Double Tap

The Internet has transformed the way we look at almost everything. It has become a platform to sell, perform, share and perhaps live a different life against a virtual background. Social media is an essential aspect of the Internet that has been embraced all across, therefore becoming a vital part of our lives.

Naturally then, it has become a strong platform in sharing and communicating artistic concerns, processes and ideas.

The ongoing global situation has our community heavily relying on social media and thus realising its importance. Now more than ever, it is imperative to consciously use this powerful medium to share authentic artistic concerns without conforming to existing rules. By doing so, we as artists question the idea of a gallery, open dialogue to what art can or cannot be and furthermore, question the accepted traditions of displaying art.

Manifest

As artists and thinkers we are supposed to be very self aware.
Before making a work, we go through this preliminary process of conceiving it and then experiencing it, while more often than not the end result is lauded as art and the process ends up staying with the artist, it can be argued that the process is equally important.
• In this exhibition, each artist is required to define the process for themselves, the end result could be anything as long as the work is experienced and lived through a process and is pragmatic.
• The duration of the work is to be defined by the artist, every artist is free to connect the theme to their own practice and
concerns.
